Cultivation

Cultivation is a popular concept in Chinese pop culture, as well as a common subgenre of xianxia—Chinese historical fiction. Cultivation is the practice by which mythical figures called cultivators seek to hone their bodies, minds, and spirits in pursuit of immortality. There are many variations as to how this is accomplished and what end goal cultivators seek, but generally, cultivation involves using meditation and similar methods to build spiritual qi. This is called cultivating, and the more one cultivates, the more powerful they become. A powerful cultivator is long-lived, if not immortal, and depending on the story, they may even ascend to become a god.citations needed

Tai Sui by Priest is a xianxia cultivation novel. In it, what cultivators pursue is genuine immortality and near-godlike spiritual power.

Tai Sui's cultivators are often referred to simply as "immortals."

Sects

In the world of Tai Sui, there are four "great sects" of cultivators. One of these is Xuanyin, the state sect of Southern Wan.1
