Taiming 28 is a time period in Tai Sui by Priest—the twenty-eighth year of the reign of Wan's Emperor Taiming. It is the year during which the plot of the novel begins, marking the beginning of the "present day."

• The Grand Selection season continues in Jinping.¹

• 1st Day

  • Chen Baishao wins the Flower Viewing Festival with the help of Xi Ping.¹
  • After encountering his father, Xi Zhengde, Xi Ping flees the House of Overflowing Splendor while dressed as a courtesan. He encounters and shoulders past Wang Baochang during his flight.¹
